Flights to Jordan Launched by easyJet
easyJet Announce New Flights From London Gatwick to Jordan's Amman
Low cost airline easyJet have announced new flights to Jordan from Gatwick. The route, which will be the longest flight that the budget airline provides, will provide a tri-weekly service direct to Amman.
Destinations in the Middle East have become increasingly popular over the past few years, with more business activity requiring passengers to fly back and forth. Meanwhile, increased access to leisure activities has also seen a significant rise in the number of holidaymakers visiting the area. Revealing the reasons behind the decision, easyJet chief executive, Carolyn McCall, said "The company will work on building more profile in Jordan. It is important for us how to market ourselves to Jordanians because it is also important to have more Jordanians visiting the UK."
The latest figures have revealed that, for Jordanians, the UK is the second largest tourism market. In addition to giving British travellers increased access to the nation, it will also provide better facilities for Jordanian nationals to take holidays in the UK, making easyJet's latest service likely to be in very strong demand. Though a number of Arab countries continue to have regional unrest, Ms McCall confirmed that the British Foreign Office had been asked about the launch of the route and that the outcome of the discussion was positive.
For easyJet the additional service is significant as it sees the company start operating their first five hour flight. And with the new service now in operation, travellers can access Jordan like never before as easyJet pushes its company boundaries.
