Glaswegians Get New Flights to Geneva
New Flights Set for Geneva From Glasgow With Jet2
Low cost and regional airline Jet2 have launched new flights to Geneva from Glasgow airport. The Scottish airport is endeavouring to increase its profile as an international hub offering routes all over the world and this latest addition, to the second most populated city in Switzerland, will offer great opportunities for local business people and holidaymakers.
Jet2 in particular has increased its presence at Glasgow of late, already having started flights to Faro, Majorca and Alicante. All of these routes have proved popular and have seen strong demand, and it is believed that the new Geneva route will also be greatly used.
A prime location for skiing, the new route will come into effect just in time for the ski season, starting to operate from December 23rd. Operating through until mid April, the flights will be ideal for Glaswegians wanting to head to the mountain slopes of Switzerland.
Talking of the decision to offer the new flights after the launch of other successful routes, Jet2's managing director, Ian Doubtfire, said "This is an exciting day for us, seeing our first flight take off from Glasgow Airport - our second base in Scotland and eighth in the UK. We're thrilled with the positive response to date and, as a result, we have increased our capacity on our most popular sunshine routes." And now for winter sports enthusiasts, the new Swiss route will be perfect for holidays at the end of 2011.
