St Lucia Attracting Tourists with a New Marina and Flights

Caribbean destinations have long been attractive for the British traveller who can afford to escape to such exotic shores. However, St Lucia's attraction is expected to grow considerably after a new marina development and additional flights from Gatwick make travelling to and staying in the paradise all the more easier.

On March 27th, Gatwick Airport's flights to St Lucia increased from five per week to a daily service, offering easy passage to this popular Caribbean island. In addition, a luxury marina named The Landings, built in the northern area of the island, has noted that 70 per cent of its sales are from British customers, indicating just how attractive the island is to those from the UK.

Located in the West Indies, St Lucia has been a firm favourite for British travellers wanting to relax in paradise locations with pristine beaches and azure blue seas. It has seen a rise in interest over the past five years, particularly for individuals wanting rental properties and holiday homes in the sun. The Landings' sales director, Ollie Gobat, revealed "An island can only develop these sectors (tourism and real estate) with strong airlift and this shows the increased popularity of St Lucia as a holiday destination and place for a second or even third home. The allure of St Lucia's incomparable natural beauty and friendliness has led to this increased demand and we see it continuing to grow."

With the daily service now operating from London Gatwick travellers will have a wider choice of flights than ever before. And with St Lucia still rising in popularity, the latest new flights are likely to be highly sought after.
