Sri Lankan Holidays Proving Popular for British Travellers
Wildlife Tourist Attractions in Sri Lanka are Proving Very Popular With Brits
With British travellers looking for new and interesting locations to visit on holidays many developing areas in the world are pumping money into their tourism sectors to boost their numbers of visitors. And as Sri Lanka increases its efforts to win their 2018 Commonwealth Games bid, popularity in the nation as a holiday hotspot is growing.
In Europe, there is an increasing demand for flights to Colombo and British travellers are headed to the city in their thousands. A popular destination is Yala Village which is located on the fringes of Yala National Park and offers a fantastic opportunity for safaris. With the park being 97,878 hectares there is a wide variety of wildlife to discover and visitors will often be lucky enough to witness water buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys, elephants, native birds and even leopards. It is also far cheaper than similar excursions to be found in nations such as South Africa, providing the perfect budget getaway for wildlife enthusiasts.
Elsewhere Hikkaduwa and Galle on the nation's south coast are also popular destinations, with beach life proving a major draw. Beautiful blue waters and intriguing coral reefs make such places the ideal spot for those passionate about watersports and with additional rare cultural sights, such as traditional fishing, visitors can go away with something special to remember.
Flights to Colombo are increasingly becoming available from a range of operators within the UK including SriLankan, Jet and Oman Air and with a range of flights from economy to business class on offer, Sri Lanka is set to continue growing in popularity.
