Dubai and Egypt Top Last Minute Easter Break List
Dubai Tipped as a Favourite for a Last Minute Easter Break
With the long Easter weekend only days away, thousands of people across Britain will be taking advantage of the weekend to set off on spring holidays. Whether travelling at home or abroad, large numbers of individuals will be leaving home for a few days in the sun. And for travellers wanting last minute flights, Dubai and Egypt are tipped to be the favourite destinations.
Reporting a boost in bookings, travel association Abta have revealed that the gleaming city of Dubai and Egyptian retreats such as Cairo and Sharm el Sheikh can expect an influx of tourists as people try and take advantage of the extended holiday period. Whilst many people will have already booked their flights, many others will have had a sudden desire to get away. And with a range of cheap flights available to these destinations last minute tourists will be keen to snap up offers.
Talking of the Easter weekend and the extra bank holiday as a result of the Royal Wedding, chairman of Abta, John McEwan, said "Easter is the traditional curtain raiser to the summer. I am delighted to see that so many of our customers are taking advantage of the extra days off by either heading overseas or taking a break closer to home."
Whilst Spain remains a popular favourite for many, people are also looking at North African nations such as Tunisia's Djerba for getaways. And whilst Britain itself may be enjoying a hot spell, those wanting guaranteed sun are flocking to countries where the temperatures are guaranteed to be in the upper twenties.
