Flights to Middle East to Benefit from Increased Capacity
Flights to the Middle East see an Increase in Seat Volume
It has been revealed that April is set to show unprecedented levels of flight capacity as aviation companies increase the number of seats available across a range of flights. With the Middle East in particular gaining from increased seat volume, April 2011 is expected to have offered 317.4m seats offering travel to global destinations.
Releasing the figures aviation information and analysis provider OAG said that the levels of seat volumes currently being provided are the highest that they have ever been. They have increased by 5 per cent in comparison to the same period in 2010 and this in turn is allowing more people than ever to travel all around the planet. However, seat volumes are not the only aspect of aviation on the rise with the frequency of flights also increasing. 80,653 more flights are also scheduled for April, an increase of 3 per cent for the same time a year earlier.
The Middle East in particular is benefiting from both the rise in flight frequency and seat volume with demand from tourists pushing services ever higher. Etihad Airways, Oman Air and Emirates have all increased travel access for those wanting to head to the Middle East, with an 11 per cent year-on-year rise in capacity being noted. And with strong demand for Arabic destinations, such seats are likely to be filled quickly. Meanwhile, 3 per cent more seats to Europe are available, whilst 6.2m additional seats are available on flights to locations in the Asia-Pacific region, offering travellers more options than ever before.
