New KLM Flights Offer Route to Punta Cana
KLM Announce New Route to Punta Cana
Dutch airline KLM has revealed that they are to begin a new route to the Dominican Republic's Punta Cana. Offering the service from October to cater to those wanting some winter sunshine the flights departing from Amsterdam will provide a fantastic alternative to travellers who don't want to fly via the USA.
Flights to Punta Cana from the UK currently fly via a number of American cities, adding to journey times for British travellers who want to enjoy a break in this holiday hotspot. However, with Amsterdam proving to be a major international hub for connections the new KLM service will prove a welcome alternative.
Flying twice a week KLM's new route will begin on October 31st, just in time for British holidaymakers wanting to escape the country and enjoy some warmer weather abroad. Making use of their MD11 aircraft, each service will offer 261 Economy seats and 24 World Business Class fares. Flights will leave Amsterdam at 10:00am, stop over in Havana, and arrive in Punta Cana at 19:30. Meanwhile, return flights will be non-stop to Holland, leaving at 20:30 and arriving at 10:00 the following morning.
Speaking about the latest service, president and chief executive officer of KLM, Peter Hartman, said "The Dominican Republic is a wonderful holiday destination and is in great demand in the Dutch market. We are looking forward to working with our partners in the travel world to make this destination a success." And for British holidaymakers wanting a great travel option with less hassle than current routes allow, KLM's announcement is likely to be welcome news.
