Holiday Club Resort Acquisition To Boost Flight Demand
Gran Canaria set to see a rise in Flights
It has been announced that five Gran Canaria based resorts have been acquired by popular Finnish firm Holiday Club Resorts (HCR). The move will see the Mediterranean based apartments enjoy renewed interest which is likely to result in an increase in flight demand to the area.
For those who have timeshares in the resorts the news may well have an important impact, with the Finnish company wanting to make their mark on their new accommodation offerings. Whilst it not only adds to HCR portfolio, increasing the 31 resorts that the company already hold in Sweden, Spain and Finland, it also adds an additional 6,000 owners to the firm's current 42,000 members. Speaking of the news, Holiday Club chief executive officer, Vesa Tengman, explained "This significant acquisition will help us strengthen our position in the international market and our expansion will continue. We were searching for suitable resorts in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands and these acquisitions meet all our criteria. The Puerto Calma Group, is an established family enterprise with top class apartments and satisfied owners."
Each of the five resorts has the benefit of sea views and with four of the resorts located on the Amadores beach, guests can enjoy one of the finest coasts in the region. Meanwhile, only 25 miles from the international airport, the Amadores based resorts are easily accesible from the UK. And with renewed interest in this holiday group, flights demand to Gran Canaria should see a rise as a result.
