Beach Cities Set to Enjoy Popular Summer
Rio de Janeiro's Thriving City Proves a Winner
With summer only just around the corner thousands of British holidaymakers will be looking to fly overseas and enjoy the warmer climates of countries around the world. For beach lovers there is no better destination than one which offers a beautiful coastline and a thriving city buzz for when the sun goes down. And there are several such holiday hotspots around the globe which will be perfect in 2011.
A top spot for sun and city is Rio de Janeiro. With South America expected to have a tourist boom this year, travelling to Brazil will allow travellers to get ahead of the pack and enjoy some Latin flavour whilst the country is still one of the up and coming places to be. Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana all offer fantastic beaches to explore and as the sun sets Rio will come alive.
Away from South America there is no better beach city than Sydney with its iconic attractions such as the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. With Bondi Beach only a short distance away it is a great place to explore and well worth the travel time. Meanwhile South Africa's Cape Town is also a prime location for sun worshippers with beautiful beaches enjoying a slight difference; colonies of penguins where they are least expected.
Europe too has some great beach cities and for those wanting to stay closer to home both Barcelona and Nice are great places for cheap holidays with stunning coastlines. And with British travellers already booking getaways in their thousands, these holiday hotspots can expect a deluge of visitors later this year.
