New Zealand Air Flights Praised for Cuddle Class

Cuddle Class Seats on Air New Zealand Flights Have Been a Huge Success.

Air New Zealand, the airline which brought the 'cuddle class' to the world, has been praised for its efforts in providing innovative travel.  Officially named Skycouch the seating option allows travelling couples to buy a cheaper third seat which can then convert the row into a bed for extra comfort.

One of the world's top travel magazines, Conde Nast, has given its top awards for innovation and design to Air New Zealand's Skycouch, beating many of the next generation offerings provided by First Class cabins.  Both Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa entered their latest First Class A380 cabins into the competition, but failed to beat New Zealand's creative seating provision.

Norm Thompson, the deputy chief executive of Conde Nast, explained "While airlines have made incremental improvements to their premium cabins over the years, no other airline has put this level of research and development effort into improving the economy flying experience."

Travellers with economy seats on Air New Zealand flights between London and Auckland can take advantage by booking three economy seats in a row.  These seats can then convert into a bed for the long haul flights, offering a huge leap in comfort and luxury without having to pay premium prices.  This in turn means that, for those travelling on long haul flights with the airline, the small extra expense makes air travel more enjoyable and allows individuals to reach their destination refreshed.
