Flybe Announce new Flights to Schiphol from Inverness
It has been revealed by lost cost airline Flybe that they are to offer new flights to Amsterdam from Scotland's Inverness airport. Offering the direct flights from 5th September 2011, the service will allow more choice when flying to the Dutch city allow access to one of Europe's largest international airport hubs.
Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam is a huge international hub for Europe, offering travellers the ability to connect with hundreds of flights to far reaching destinations. Additionally Amsterdam itself remains a popular holiday location for many whether enjoying a long weekend or a couple of weeks sightseeing.
From September, Schiphol airport will offer an all year round service, with six flights per week during the winter months increasing to seven per week for the more popular summer season. Chief commercial officer at Flybe, Mike Rutter, explained "Flybe understands the importance of air transport for Inverness and the Highlands. We have been keen to open up this route for many years and so are pleased that with the support of our regional partners this has now come to fruition." He added that the firm were expecting great success for the route which would not only open up holidaying options for locals but also provide a much needed business service between the cities.
