For many, heading to Greece's tropical islands are the ideal way get away.  Zakynthos, also known as Zante, is one of the Ionian Sea islands located near Corfu, and with its large array of beaches it makes the ideal holiday for those wanting sun and sand.

A beautiful location is Laganas which is home to a 5km stretch of golden sand.  Holidaymakers will find this beach has a lively atmosphere with bars attracting younger crowds.  For water sports enthusiasts the best place to go is Tsilivi; a 2km beach which offers jet skiing, windsurfing and paragliding.  Meanwhile, with Blue Flag status families can be assured that the area is clean for children to play in the sand and surf.  For those wanting something a little more secluded then Kalamaki is perfect.  Shallow seas and a conservation area means that it is more peaceful than many beaches on Zante.  However travellers can rest assured that whatever they prefer, Zante will have the ideal beach offering.
