Icelandair's Route From Washington to Reykjavik has Made it's Maiden Voyage
Icelandair has made its inaugural flight from Washington to Reykjavik, offering British travellers greater connection opportunities for visiting the United States. Flight number 644 operates four direct flights a week, and allows connections to the US from more than 20 nations including the UK.
The new route will provide a fantastic link to America for those wishing to make use of services flying via Iceland. Whilst the route was originally set to be seasonal and end in September, it has now been confirmed that the service will be extended, offering travel until 8th January 2012. After taking a two month break the service will then return in March 2012.
A service to be used for leisure and business, the Icelandair flights will offer three cabins, including Economy, Business and First class, along with leather seats and individual in-flight entertainment. Speaking about the anticipation for the latest service Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Airports Authority in Washington, Charles D. Snelling, said "The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority welcomes Icelandair to Dulles International Airport. Now, Washington travellers will have nonstop access to Iceland, a gateway to Europe. Iceland is a fascinating land of natural attraction, unique towns and villages, and wonderful people. We expect the travellers of our Region to greatly enjoy this new service."
