Canada Expects to be a 2012 Skiing Hotspot
Whilst the 2011 ski season has now finished many individuals will be looking forward to booking their next holiday. Whether it's in the early months before Christmas or during the traditional January and February months there are several top destinations to visit which will offer great breaks for winter sports enthusiasts.
In 2012 Canada expects to remain a top hotspot for skiing and snowboarding. The Vancouver Olympics took place in 2010 and in December 2012 the World Cup cross-country ski racing will be held in Canmore, bringing the country's slopes to the forefront of people's minds. Perfect dry snow slopes can be found in the national park of Banff, whilst Jasper offers skiers around 86 runs. And the most popular and regularly visited resort, Whistler offers attractions and entertainment for all the family.
For British skiers who want to stay closer to home there are a great range of European destinations including France's Chamonix which is accessible from Chambery or Geneva. Less well known resorts are also great to take advantage of, including the Chamonix Valley's Les Houches; a destination which caters to children offering day-care centres and staff specifically trained to look after little ones.
If tourists are thinking ahead to their new ski break then there a range of top locations around the world. And whether travelling far afield or as near as possible, there is a great range of ski slopes to suit all individuals.
