Galaxy Tablets to be Offered to Premium Passengers on American Airlines

It has been revealed that U.S airline American Airlines are to provide premium passengers with Galaxy Tablets for their journeys.  This new innovation will be available on international flights to Europe and South America, meaning that passengers travelling in First and Business Class will be able to partake of extra entertainment by using the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet gadgets.

Around 6,000 machines will be used across American Airlines services aboard the company's Boeing 767-300 planes.  Running on an Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS, the machines are Wi-Fi enabled, have a sensitive touch screen and are currently the thinnest tab, at 8.6mm wide, on the market.  Replacing the current entertainment systems for premium passengers, the Galaxy Tablets will offer TV shows, films, games and other features.  Passengers will also be able to purchase internet usage, allowing them to send emails and browse the web whilst in-flight.

Speaking of the move to incorporate the devices, chief commercial officer for American Airlines, Virasb Vahidi, said "We are working hard to revitalize our fleet and invest wisely in new products and services to modernize and enhance the travel experience.  Working with Samsung to outfit our premium cabins with the innovative Galaxy Tab will give our premium customers a modern and innovative in-flight entertainment experience."
