Mexico City Expects 12 Million Visitors a Year

Mexico City remains Mexico's most visited destination for tourism, attracting approximately 12 million people a year.  However, with a rising number of easy international links it is also becoming a top spot for business.  As a result in 2011 several new hotels will be offering better business class accommodation than ever before.

With thousands of trade shows and exhibitions every year, Mexico City is seeing an influx of business travellers on an annual basis.  This is an industry that the hotel sector has been keen to participate in and it has emerged that several new and renovated properties are to offer appropriate services for such travellers.  Luxury and chic new brand, W Hotels have recently revealed that they are to develop a new 132-room hotel in Sante Fe, in addition to their current Mexico City hotel, which is due for major renovations to attract those in the metropolis.  Meanwhile, Marriott International is to open their first Courtyard Hotel next to Mexico City airport in early 2012, offering travellers convenient accommodation for their visit.  And with Hilton Worldwide also announcing plans to open a DoubleTree Hotel in the city by the end of the year, the new offerings are extensive.

Whilst the new properties will no doubt be used predominantly by business travellers, they will also make a fine addition for the tourist sector.  And with the popularity of Mexico City continually rising, holidaymakers will now be able to find better accommodation than ever before.
