France More Popular Than Ever
France Expects to see a Rise in British Tourism in 2011
With a large number of people put off from travelling to the Middle East due to civil unrest, and thoughts of 2010's volcanic ash cloud still in people's minds, France has been revealed to be enjoying renewed interest from tourists. Whilst a far larger number of French residents are remaining in the country this year, British individuals are also said to be flocking to destinations including Nantes, Bordeaux, and Nice.
With economic strains also adding to the pressures of finding an affordable holiday, tourist activity is set to increase significantly in France in 2011. Hassle free journeys, high quality stays and safe surroundings are all being revealed as holiday priorities. And with France fulfilling all of these requirements, the nation is set to be very popular for British holidaymakers this summer.
With thoughts of safety and last years ash cloud still in many people's minds individuals are looking at staying closer to home. Numbers of foreign travellers crept up in the first quarter of 2011 by 4 per cent. However, with French accommodation bookings already up by 11 per cent, holidaymakers clearly aren't venturing as far afield as in previous years. It isn't only France which is seeing a resurgence of interest, but other traditional spots too including Spain, Portugal and Italy. So for British travellers this year, it seems that Europe is a hot holiday destination.
