Gatwick Gains Direct Asian Flights

It has been revealed that Gatwick is to gain two new direct Asian flights this due courtesy of Vietnam Airlines. Starting in winter 2011 the new routes will provide travel to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, opening up Asia for a host of new travellers.

Starting the flights from Gatwick's North Terminal the four weekly flights will begin in December. Classes of economy, upper economy and business will be provided on board a Boeing 777-200ER, offering up to 309 passengers the chance to enjoy direct travel to the Vietnamese cities.

Talking of the exciting addition to the airport's portfolio Stewart Wingate, Gatwick's chief executive, said "These new long-haul routes are exciting news for Gatwick and for the 90,000 UK holidaymakers who travel to Vietnam each year who, this winter for the first time, will be able to fly direct to Vietnam." He added the flights would allow prosperous business opportunities in addition to growing Gatwick Airports brand as an international travel hub.

With more than five million tourists exploring Vietnam last year the country is certainly becoming more popular for holidays. And with the brand new flights from Gatwick offering access like never before, the number of British individuals enjoying the country is set to soar.
