Top Destinations for Gay Friendly Holidays
Holiday destinations for Homosexual lovers
For many in the gay community, trying to plan a holiday can sometimes be difficult. Whilst there are hundreds of exciting destinations to explore, those who are gay have to constantly be aware that particular countries may well not be completely accepting of them. However, there are a fantastic range of hotspots that champion gay rights and are perfect for breaks and getaways.
For individuals wanting to stay in Europe there are several ideal places to go including Athens, Berlin and Amsterdam. Athens, though having a troubled economy, is recovering in the tourist sector, and with more than 10,000 people enjoying Athens pride, are more than accepting of the LGBT community. The Netherlands is noted in the gay community for being very forward thinking as they were the first country in the world to legalise gay marriage. The beautiful canals and cycling in Amsterdam makes it an ideal spot away. Meanwhile Berlin is also leading the way for gay rights, and it is one of Europe's most gay friendly cities.
Outside of Europe, whilst individuals may not think it, Tel Aviv is actually a fantastic gay friendly location and is a bright light in the Middle East. LGBT rights are surprisingly enlightened in this city, with gay individuals able to serve in the military and have the same rights to inheritance as straight couples. So for those wanting to explore gay friendly destinations, there are many world locations that are forward thinking and ready to offer the trip of a lifetime.
