BMI Reveals New Flights to Amritsar
BMI expands to Amritsar
Heathrow Airport's second largest airline, bmi, has revealed that they are to begin a new service to Amritsar in the autumn. Starting the flights from 13th October, the operator will fly via Kazakhstan to access the Northern Indian destination.
Starting in October bmi will offer three weekly flights to Amritsar. The services will fly via Kazakhstan's Almaty and will use an Airbus A330, offering 36 Business Class and 196 Economy fares. A full range of business services will be offered aboard flights, with passengers able to enjoy seat reclines of 50 degrees, in-seat power, noise cancelling headphones and a personal 15" entertainment screen. Meanwhile, for those passengers flying Business class or who are members of bmi's Diamond Club Gold or Silver programme, the airline's international lounge at Heathrow can also be accessed.
Speaking about the new flights Chief Commercial Officer, Joerg Hennemann, said "Home to the Harmandir Sahib, also referred to as the Golden Temple, Amritsar is one of the most ancient and fascinating cities of India, and is also the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh religion. We are delighted that our customers now have the chance to discover this vibrant city with convenient schedules and a direct service from London." All of which means that for those travelling to India for business or leisure the new services will open up fantastic opportunities.
