San Francisco a Top American Retreat
San Francisco top
San Francisco is generally regarded as one of the most laid back and cosmopolitan cities in America. It is very much loved by its residents, and it makes the ideal spot for those going on holiday.
A huge attraction of the city is that San Francisco's neighbourhoods all have their own unique atmosphere. There are dozens of different areas in this city, all offering something a little different, and it's well worthwhile for those travelling to this metropolis to do a little research beforehand and find out just where they want to go.
The largest neighbourhood in San Francisco is Golden Gate Park, an area which has been developed into a tropical paradise. The botanical garden is a fantastic place to explore, whilst in the area fondly known as Sunset you'll find the city zoo and TPC Harding Park's iconic golf course. Candlestick Point is another large area of the city, and is home to America's largest artist colony. Meanwhile Fisherman's Wharf remains one of the most popular neighbourhoods for tourists due to its beautiful waterfront, specialist bakeries and great shops. This is where tours to the famous Alcatraz also leave from, offering visitors an iconic attraction to explore.
San Francisco is an incredible city to explore and offers something for everyone. So if British holidaymakers are looking for somewhere unique for their travels, this American city is perfect.
