Quirky Hotels for American Holidays
America new quirky hotels
When planning holidays anywhere in the world it can often be only too easy to simply settle on iconic and branded accommodation. Whilst this means that quality is almost assured, stays can often be very uniform and bland. And for British travellers wanting something a little different, there are some great quirky hotels to explore.
For visitors to Boston, the Liberty Hotel is a converted jail; though guests would never know it. It has been turned into an upscale chic hotel, but with its past as the Charles Street Jail, it retains some of its unique history. Meanwhile, another public service building has been used in Portland, the Kennedy School hotel which was once the area's local primary school. However, this little hotel uses clever decoration to hark back to its former use, and guests will discover coatpegs and blackboards throughout the hotel.
For those travelling to New York, the Library Hotel is definitely a place to explore and provides luxury accommodation fitted around the Dewey Decimal System. Connecticut's Winvian meanwhile is set amongst 113 acres of countryside and guests can choose from maritime, golf or camping themed cottages. And for those enjo3ying a getaway in glitzy Palm Springs, the Rendezvous is styled in a post-war 1950's fashion, with frosted glass, poolside blue Astroturf and pink flamingos. So for any trip to America, staying in a quirky hotel will offer something a little different to the uniform setting of iconic but bland brands.
