British Airways Flights Break London City Record
Record broken
British Airways (BA) has broken the record for the number of passengers flown out of London City Airport in a month. During June the airline transported more than 100,000 passengers, showing just how popular both the airline and London City Airport are with Londoners.
Over the past few months London City Airport has noted an increase in the number of flights available to travellers. British Airways has certainly opened up a large number of destinations to passengers wanting a quick escape from Britain's capital. And, with the company's latest Embraer 190 aircraft being introduced on routes to Edinburgh, Malaga, Stockholm and Faro, even more traffic is likely.
General Manager of BA's subsidiary CityFlyer, Luke Hayhoe, said "We are delighted with the response we have had to the new aircraft fleet, our customer feedback is the highest it's ever been in terms of comfort and service on board the aircraft. The fact customers are so positive is obviously reflected in the fantastic passenger numbers we've had for June." He added that whilst the company had originally planned a fleet of 11 for the airport, an additional two had been added, allowing for more routes and increasing the popularity of the central London airport.
