Abu Dhabi's Hotels are as popular as ever

New figures for the occupancy of Abu Dhabi's hotels have revealed that the city in the United Arab Emirates is as popular as ever. With accommodation noting their highest ever occupancy levels for the first six months of 2011, Abu Dhabi remains a popular tourist and business spot.

There are many services to Abu Dhabi from Britain, including those offered by British Airways, Oman Air and Qatar Airways. These quick and relatively cheap services have allowed holidaymakers to flock to the nation in their thousands, with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) revealing that numbers of hotel guests had increased by 11 per cent in the first half of 2011. Guest nights meanwhile reached three million, a rise of 26 per cent, whilst occupancy sourced from 10 to 70 per cent.

Whilst the news for occupancy is good, the news for tourists is also even better as Chief Operating Officer for Cristal Hotel Abu Dhabi, Kamal Fakhouri, noted that room rates are also down, allowing visitors to find hotel rooms for a cheaper price. Millennium Hotel Abu Dhabi's director of sales, Paul Simmons, backed these findings up, saying that whilst high end prices were stable, it was "the average rate that's taken a bit of a drop."

With falling rates and increased popularity, a holiday in Abu Dhabi is ideal for British travellers wanting to sample the UAE culture and climate. All of which means that in 2011 the nation looks as strong as ever.
