Jet2 Offers Flights to Rome
Jet2 are to add another destination to their expanding Scottish network, with flights to Rome beginning in spring 2012.
Airline Jet2 has been making significant additions to their Scottish portfolio of late, with a huge number of European destinations added to their network from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. And now the company has revealed new flights between Glasgow and Rome, providing the perfect getaway for those wanting to enjoy Italy.
Starting from March 2012, the Glasgow to Rome service will enjoy three weekly flights and came about after a recent survey of Jet2 passengers showed that Rome was a top travel destination choice. Meanwhile, Glasgow City councillors hope that the tourism will be reciprocal, with more Italians visiting Scotland.
Chief commercial officer for Jet2, Steve Heapy, said "Rome is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, and it's great to be able to offer the people of Scotland the opportunity to travel to Rome's leading airport at low flight prices with Jet2.com." He added that it was hoped that Italian investment would also be seen in Glasgow itself.
Starting next spring, the new services will offer the ideal chance for Scottish individuals to plan holidays away to Rome and Italian destinations beyond. And with three weekly flights, there will be a wide range of travel options for passengers.
