Flights to Estonia Set to be in High Demand
Estonia's capital city of Tallinn has been awarded the accolade of 2011 European Capital of Culture.
It has been revealed in new travel data that the small Baltic nation of Estonia has climbed to rank number one in the Top 10 Emerging Destinations. When compared to flight search figures for summer 2010, data for the country had increased by 54 per cent, showing that Estonia's allure as a holiday hotspot is greater than ever before.
The results are somewhat unsurprising after the capital city of Tallinn was voted European Capital of Culture for 2011. Events and celebrations are taking place in the city throughout the year, helping to put the destination on the holiday map. And with many British travellers wanting to explore previously undiscovered countries, Estonia is set to benefit from the extra levels of tourism.
Speaking about the latest figures, Property Secrets director, Alan Forsyth, said "Estonia has so much to offer including charming seaside towns, pretty villages and a surprisingly cosmopolitan culture and has certainly begun to place itself on the tourism radar seeing a 41 percent increase in the number of UK visitors with a record number welcomed in the first half of this year." And with increased flights to Tallinn from the likes of easyJet, Estonian Air and Air Baltic, Estonia is more accessible than ever before.
