Flights with Korean Air Get In-Flight Shopping

It has been revealed that those flying with Korean Air on their new A380 will be able to indulge in in-flight shopping.

It has been revealed that those flying with Korean Air on their new A380 will be able to indulge in in-flight shopping. With the Airbus giant now operating on a route between New York and Seoul, premium passengers will be able to use three bars, whilst all passengers can visit a duty free shop.

Whilst the latest flight for Korean Air bypasses Europe, the aircraft developments spell a changing trend for the sector as a whole. Making its debut flight on August 9th, Korean Air's A380 holds 407 passengers; far less than its 525 seat capability. However, the airline has integrated a number of other features to attract premium passengers in particular; a group who make up the largest profit margin for firms.

With 301 economy seats available, the Korean Air A380 offers 12 first class suites and 94 lie-flat Business seats on its upper deck. In addition, a self service bar, cocktail bar and Celestial bar are on offer for premium passengers to use, whilst a small duty free shop is also available offering perfumes, cosmetics, accessories and alcohol for sale.

The development means that customer experience has been greatly added to on the Korean Air flight, a precedent which could spread to other companies. And with Asiana Airlines purchasing six A380's for routes to the USA and Europe, a new generation of flying could be set to begin.
