Finncomm Acquisition Completed by Flybe

Exeter based airline, Flybe, has revealed that their acquisition of Finnish airline Finncomm has been completed, adding a host of new flights to their portfolio.

Exeter based airline, Flybe, has revealed that their acquisition of Finnish airline Finncomm has been completed, adding a host of new flights to their portfolio. The new routes which cover a range of destinations in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, will offer British travellers a host of options when making connections with the growing airline.

In total, Flybe will offer 416 new flights every week, consisting of a variety of established Finncomm routes and some new services. Included in the roster are flights from Helsinki to Tartu, Mariehamn and Trondheim, and Tallinn to Oulu, Vaasa, Stockholm, Tampere and Turku. The acquisition of Finncomm, Finland's largest domestic carrier, was completed on August 18th meaning that now all services will be under the British airline's branding.

Flybe Europe's managing director, Mike Rutter, said "Flybe is extremely proud to have this opportunity to serve Finland, Estonia and the Nordic/Baltic states' area. It is a moment we have been working towards for a long time. Today marks a brand new era of affordable travel choices for both leisure and business passengers to the region."

Flybe have been going from strength to strength in 2011, with total June revenues reaching £160.4m. And with efforts to offer new services to Demark, Lithuania and Lativa also on the cards, the airline will offer a network to British individuals like never before.
