It has been revealed that one of the largest hotel players in San Francisco is now offering the chance to hire electric cars, enabling guests to explore the city in an emission free way. The San Francisco Airport Marriot Waterfront will offer vehicles on the spot, giving eco-tourists the ideal way to discover one of California's most popular cities whilst keeping their carbon footprint low.
With more British travellers interested in environmentally friendly trips and trying to reduce their carbon emissions, the chance to hire an electric vehicle will be very attractive. The first two models available for use at the hotel will be the Smart Fortwo Electric and the Nissan Leaf, and with the Chevrolet Volt coming soon, guests will have a wide choice of cars. Meanwhile, for guests actually arriving with their own electric transport, Marriot has revealed that it will offer free charging and valet services.
Whilst electric car rental from a hotel isn't a complete novelty, the news that Marriot, one of the world's largest hotel groups, is offering the service could mean big business for the future. But for now, those exploring the wonderful city of San Francisco can do so in an environmentally friendly way.
