Top Hotspots for Bird Lovers
Bird lovers loving hotspots
For many individuals, going away on holiday is the chance to see some of the planet's most beautiful wildlife. Whilst safaris in particular have become very popular, birdwatchers from Britain are also spoilt for choice when it comes to top destinations. And for those looking at getting away this autumn, Brazil, America and Dubai all offer ideal locations.
With 20 per cent of the world's bird population getting ready to fly south for the winter, there is the ideal opportunity to follow these migrating creatures. Brazil is a fantastic spot for wildlife, especially birds, and with its varied habitat the nation is home to a fifth of the planet's bird species. Flying to Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo offers the prospect of Brazilian culture along with access to some top bird-watching hotspots. Whilst Dubai may be best known for its beaches, nightlife and shopping, the Emirate has a great range of habitat which is home to falcons. For those holidaying in this city, falcon safaris can be a great way to spend a few absorbing hours.
America too has a wide range of habitat and in Tuscon, Arizona bird enthusiasts will be able to see hawks and roadrunners in addition to hummingbirds. Hong Kong's Mai Po Wetlands are also an incredible spot for birds, offering the opportunity to spot curlews, bitterns and robins. So for those wanting to follow the migrating birds there are plenty of top destinations to visit.
