Gatwick Welcomes New North Terminal
New North terminal for London's Gatwick
Gatwick Airports new, £73m North Terminal has now opened, offering travellers the latest in luxury and comfort whilst waiting to fly. Set to house the entire British Airways (BA) portfolio for Gatwick operations, new facilities include baggage podiums, self service desks and a premium passenger area.
British Airways operations will use the new North Terminal, including new Mauritius flights which are due to be switched from London Heathrow with effect from November 1st. A host of new services are available for customers to take advantage of, including premium options for those travelling in higher classes. Customers will also be able to print their own baggage tags and boarding cards, and choose their own seats.
Speaking about the new airport terminal, Gatwick Airport's chief executive, Stewart Wingate, said "The new British Airways check-in area, which is part of our £73 million investment to extend the North Terminal arrivals area, is a fantastic example of innovation and is evidence that they, like Gatwick, are putting the emphasis on delivering excellent customer-service for the passenger." And with passengers likely to see easier transitions through the terminal and a range of personalised services, travellers are expected to welcome the new modern and high spec extension.
