Croatia Top Destination for British Beach Holidays
British Holiday Top Destination, Croatia
It has been revealed by the Croatian National Tourist Board that their beaches are attracting holidaymakers like never before. With many British individuals looking to escape the winter weather and head somewhere a little warmer, Split or Dubrovnik are the ideal beach destinations.
Revealing figures for the first nine months of 2011, Croatia's Tourist Board showed that there was an 8% jump in tourism. Many of these visitors were indulging in the nation's beautiful coastline, which provides stunning beaches and a great opportunity to indulge in sailing or yachting. With Croatia actively looking at improving its infrastructure to allow even more visitors to visit, it is fast becoming a beach holiday hotspot. With many tourists looking for alternatives to traditional nations, such as Spain or Portugal, Croatia could well become the new family favourite.
One tourist expert, Alistair Daly, said "Croatia's crowning glory is undoubtedly its beaches. The country is home to 1,244 islands and a stunning, unspoilt coastline that makes it the envy of many of Europe's more highly frequented beach destinations. Holidays to Croatia are perfect for any fan of sun, sea and sand." With many people searching for their winter break, the Eastern European nation is set to become very attractive to British individuals.
