New Flights with United Airlines for Manchester
United Airlines Have New Flights For Manchester
It has been announced by United Airlines that it is to start a new Manchester route to Washington DC. Beginning in 2012, the direct flights will offer those in Manchester the perfect access to the capital of the U.S.A.
Having noted more than a six-year absence since bmi stopped its Manchester to Washington DC route in 2005, the new United Airlines services will begin in May 2012. Daily flights will leave the British city at midday, arriving in Washington at 3pm local time. The new route will mean that both New York and Washington are directly accessible from Manchester, giving residents the ideal travel to two top American cities.
Being able to offer the service due to United Airlines merger with Continental Airlines in 2010, the managing director of United's Ireland and UK operations, Bob Schumacher, said "We are delighted to offer our customers non-stop service to Washington DC, in addition to New York. As well as cutting journey times for travellers between the two cities, the new schedule will greatly increase the range of options for customers travelling beyond our hubs to destinations throughout the Americas." He added that the latest service announcement showed the airlines commitment to offering long-term services at Manchester airport.
