Reconfiguration of onboard classes for TAM Airlines

It has been revealed by Brazilian carrier TAM Airlines that it is to reconfigure its onboard classes when its latest 777-300ERs are delivered in 2012. With eight new 777's planned for the coming years, TAM will be revamping its aircraft to offer First Class, Business Class and Economy Class fares.

The airline, which currently offers two London routes to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, will make the changes on its long haul fleet to offer customers increased choice over levels of onboard comfort. In 2012 TAM will receive four new 777's, with an additional two being delivered in both 2013 and 2014.

President of TAM, Libano Miranda Barroso, explained that new products and features would be available in all classes, including Business Class passengers being able to enjoy newly installed lie-flat seats. Meanwhile, chief executive officer of TAM holding group, Marco Antonia Bologna, said that, with the airline needing to improve its brand and image, the new 777's will "fly on North American and European routes. Our A330 fleet will also be featured with the new product."

With South American destinations having been highlighted for several years running now as the new tourist destinations to look out for, TAM's revamp couldn't come at a better time. With increased demand for flights, the new 777's will attract much customer attention.
