Alternative Skiing Hotspots Revealed
BMI offering skiing with a difference
With the winter sports season approaching, many people will be preparing to head to the gorgeous mountain slopes seeking skiing and snowboarding. Europe has an enormous range of top skiing spots to enjoy, but for those that want something a little different, airline BMI has highlighted some ideal alternatives.
Located near the Lebanon capital of Beirut is the Mzaar ski resort, which is an area offering over 80km of skiing for all levels of ability. The 42 trails are more than enough to keep holidaymakers engaged in their time away, though Beirut provides an ideal day trip for waterfront walks and Lebanese cuisine.
Morocco is also a great ski alterative, and though many may think of this country as simply desert, the Atlas Mountains south of Marrakech are ideal for winter sports. Oukaimeden has a little ski village nestled at 2,600m with an additional chairlift rising 3,258m. With hotels, equipment hire, ski schools and fine restaurants, there is a huge amount on offer. Marrakech meanwhile makes the ideal stop-off on the way home, offering tourists the chance to buy souvenirs in the bustling markets and explore local foods. For those wanting an alternative skiing location this winter, Morocco and Lebanon are ideal.
