Caribbean Destination Ideal for Winter

Winter is a time when many people seek to get away and enjoy the warm climes on offer around the world. For British travellers wanting to enjoy some sand and sea over the colder months of the year, the Caribbean is ideal. British Airways (BA) has revealed that destinations such as Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua are top spots.

Carrying out a survey on its Facebook page, BA said that the two most sought after destinations by travellers were London and the Caribbean. Whilst London provides a quintessentially English festive atmosphere, it is the Caribbean that many people are desperate to get to, allowing them to enjoy the area's beautiful climate, stunning seas and gorgeous coastlines.

Head of Ireland and UK sales at BA, Richard Tams, said "the thought of relaxing on a stunning beach in the warm and friendly Caribbean is a real draw as the winter closes in." Whilst St Lucia offers a French ambiance and volcanic waters to bathe in, Antigua has the draw of secluded beaches and private coves. Meanwhile, with a large number of flights to Barbados leaving the UK, holidaymakers will be able to soak up some much needed sun over the winter period.
