North American Destinations for Valentine's Day

North America a good choice for valentines day with your loved one

New York has to be high on anyone's list of places to visit. The city that never sleeps may be in the grip of a cold spell in February but it is a good opportunity to wrap up warm and take one of the famous horse drawn carriage rides. There are many top quality restaurants where couples can enjoy a romantic meal for two and there are plenty of Broadway shows to see. Flights are available to New York from all major airports in Europe.

Venturing a little further north there is Montreal in Canada. This has more of a European flavour and has a café culture to rival Paris. It will also be fairly cold there in February, but it is a good chance to take part in activities such as ice-skating for a date that is a little different.

Remaining in Canada, the city of Banff is famous for skiing, although this is by no means compulsory. Couples can enjoy the views of the mountains while they stay by a roaring log fire for a romantic time together.

For warmer climes, why not try Laguna Beach? This can be found in California and gives couples the chance to relax on the beach and watch the waves. The area also has many great restaurants for evenings out, and in February it is still off-peak season so will not be as busy as at other times of the year.
