City Spring Breaks
Cities on offer for small trips for all ages
Tips for taking city spring breaks include travelling midweek, as both hotel and flights costs can soar at weekends due to demand. Keeping costs down can also include looking at hotels just a short distance from the city centre, as those in prime locations do charge more.
Europe's capital cities are among some of the most obvious choices. Paris is just a short hop from the UK and has plenty to see and do. Couples can take romantic walks along the Seine, explore attractions such as Notre-Dame and the Louvre, and enjoy a meal in one of the city's many restaurants.
Lisbon is a good choice for those who are looking for slightly warmer temperatures. The city is close to a few good beaches in the region, and attractions such as St George Castle and the local museums are particularly popular with tourists.
Cities further afield that are popular for short breaks include New York and Moscow. Flying time is a little longer but the shopping and attractions in both places more than make up for that. Cost of flights is also a little more but great savings can be made by not travelling at peak times and making use of sites such as JusttheFlight.co.uk.
