Low cost flights and appealing destinations make Prague a popular choice
Croatia has a growing tourist industry thanks to its Adriatic location. The capital city of Zagreb is popular with those who want to take a city break away from the usual western European destinations. There are historic areas of the city to be explored as well as festivals and other events regularly throughout the year.
The Czech Republic capital of Prague has become a popular weekend break destination thanks to low cost flights but there are plenty of other areas of the country that are worth a look. A short distance from Prague is Central Bohemia and visitors can take part in sports such as windsurfing and kayaking. Further south there is beautiful countryside complete with castles and vineyards.
Poland has many attractions, including cities such as Krakow and Warsaw, as well as the large national parks. Summer holidays can be taken at one of the many resorts on the Baltic Sea coast. A number of budget airlines regularly run low-cost flights to Poland.
In Romania a big tourist attraction is the area of Transylvania. Tours are available which specialise in Dracula, but there are plenty of castles and forts in other areas too. Resorts on the Black Sea are perfect for a traditional summer holiday and there are activities that are suitable for all the family.
