New York revealed as the most popular destination for Valentine's Day trips.

It has been revealed by a Heathrow Airport survey that New York is the most popular destination for Valentine's Day trips. However, the vibrant metropolis is the ideal place for love whatever time of year it may be, and for couples wanting to explore one of the world's most iconic cities, there is more than enough to do.

With Valentine's Day here, it was revealed that bumper numbers of passengers travelling to New York made the city an early 2012 romantic favourite. Over the coming months as spring arrives in the city, New York will become the ideal place for love to blossom as Central Park begins to offer the opportunity of romantic walks and alfresco dining. Meanwhile, catching a Broadway show offers couples the chance to see top Hollywood stars treading the boards, whilst the city's huge range of cuisines offers the perfect dining experience whether visitors want Italian, Thai or hearty traditional American foods.

With 14th February showing the romance of the city, New York has been highlighted as an ideal alternative to Europe's Paris. With walks in the parks, a climb to the top of the Empire State Building or a cruise out to Liberty Island, New York caters to all couples, whatever their interests.
