Cape Town the ideal winter city
Cape town is a fantastic winter retreat
Though the weather may have turned a little milder after Britain's recent snowy scenes, many people are still looking to get away to a warmer climate. A fantastic winter retreat for beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and a hot climate is South Africa's Cape Town. With a favourable exchange rate, Brits could get more for their money.
Located on the southern tip of South Africa, Cape Town has become a much sought after holiday destination in recent years. A vibrant vineyard community offers the chance to explore fine wines amongst beautiful rural scenes, whilst a hot climate and stunning coastline lures many beach lovers. There is also the chance to do things that are a little more daring, such as cage diving with great white sharks or enjoying a safari in one of the country's game reserves.
In the current economy, the pound remains strong against South Africa's rand, offering around a 22% mark up. This means for every £500, holidaymakers will get an extra £91. With only a one-hour time difference and a large number of flights operating to Cape Town, it can be the perfect destination for a winter break.
