Minsk International Film Festival
The Minsk International Film Festival is a treat for film buffs everywhere.
The Minsk International Film Festival is the biggest and certainly the most prestigious of all such film festivals to take place in Belarus. The festival takes place each and every year early in the month of November and comes split into three distinct sections – feature, documentary and the children and youth film festival known as Listapadzik.
The Festival gives film fans the chance to view no less than 100 movies during the course of a single week across five venues, while there are also other film related events during the week such as seminars, master classes, programmes in focus, and many more besides.
The Festival is also a great opportunity for actors, filmmakers, and their supporters to mingle and network with other talent in their fields, while actors and directors also attend the screening of their feature films and present Q & A sessions after the showing.
Many competitions in almost all of the categories take place during the Minsk International Film Festival, including the Documentary Competition, the Young Directors competition (known as “Youth on the march”) and the primary Main Competition, which sees films from the last two years from countries in the Baltics, Central Asia, and Central and Eastern Europe.
Visitors to Minsk who are intending to be in the area in early November would get a great deal of pleasure from visiting the Minsk International Film Festival, with more than 400 people in attendance every year.
