Economy Extra class is now offered additionally to standard Economy, on the Stansted-Helsinki route.Blue 1 Airlines have confirmed the launch of a new Economy Extra service, which offers improved facilities for customers on its London Stansted to Helsinki route. The Economy Extra cabin is in addition to the existing economy service, and will give passengers flexible tickets, fast track check-in and dedicated cabin space with complementary food and wine during the flight. Customers can choose to buy one-way tickets, allowing them to fly in one class on the outward journey and in the other on the return. Fares start from 74 Euros one way including taxes.
Blue 1, the Finnish wing of SAS, has twice been awarded the prestigious "Airline of the Year Bronze Award" by the European Airlines Association ERA, and has been a full member of Star Alliance since 2010. The Star Alliance network ensures a high quality of service for flyers, with its frequent flyer programmes, exclusive upgrades and further rewards with optional Gold and Silver membership.
Blue 1 is carrying out ongoing improvements to its facilities, including the replacement of its 84-seat Avro RJ fleet with Boeing 717s capable of seating 115 passengers.
The new Stansted-Helsinki route is in addition to the twice daily flights between Helsinki and Heathrow. This summer, they are also adding three new European destinations, aimed primarily at leisure passengers. These are Helsinki - Edinburgh, which has begun operating on Mondays and Fridays, Helsinki – Marseille on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Saturday services to the Croatian city of Pula, which will operate seasonally between May and September.
