Vladivostok Air continues to offer passengers great flights to exotic destinations.Vladivostok Air is a member of both the Transport Clearing House and the International Air Transport Association. The Russian state-owned airline has twice been awarded the ‘Wings of Russia’ by the Russian Aviation Industry.
The company was formed in the 1930s, but did not established itself as a competitive international airline until 1990. In 2004, Vladivostok Air passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit, enabling it to become a member of the International Air Transport Association, which confirms that it is a reliable and safe airline.
In 2005, the company became the first in the world to offer medium to long-haul operations using the Tupolev Tu-204-300 airliner. Though the airline still owns and operates six of these aircraft, in 2007 it also took delivery of an Airbus A-320.
Vladivostok Air is the largest passenger carrier in Russia’s far-east, carrying more than 1.1 million travellers per year and it flies to 13 international and 24 domestic destinations. Its current fleet of aircraft is comprised of Airbus A320, Airbus A330-300, Tu-204-300, Mi-8 and Yak-40. In addition to its scheduled services, the company also operates charter flights for private individuals and corporate delegations.
Vladivostok Air has gone to considerable lengths to encourage international traffic by building a separate terminal at Vladivostok Airport. This modern airport handles flights from Papua New Guinea, Bulgaria, Haiti, Australia and Greece.
