EasyJet have revealed that their Southend based portfolio of flights have now gone on sale, offering British travellers the ideal services to get away next summer. With the London Olympics being held to the UK in 2012, the flights will not only help visitors get to the games, but offer brand new routes to some fantastic Mediterranean favourites.

Flights with budget airline easyJet will be offered to Spanish destinations including Barcelona, Alicante, Ibiza, Mallorca and Malaga. Meanwhile, the fantastic Portuguese city of Faro will be serviced, whilst the Northern Irish destination of Belfast will benefit from new flights. And for travellers wanting international connections, new flights from Southend to Amsterdam will be ideal.

To mark the start of the services, athlete Sally Gunnell was on hand, saying "The people of East London and Essex will love having more choice and a greater range of destinations to fly to, and I'm sure that easyJet services to Southend will also be popular for Europeans wanting to fly to London next year." Managing director of Southend Airport, Alistair Welch, added "easyJet passengers will experience the state-of-the-art terminal and easy access to the dedicated railway station." He added that the routes had been carefully planned to provide well timed services for both in and out bound travellers. And with just as many people wanting to holiday during the Olympics as wanting to attend the event, the new easyJet services will be ideal.
