Lufthansa ranks among the worlds leading airlines and serves European and Worldwide destinations including Munich, Dubai and Miami
Lufthansa (LH), one of Europe’s leading airlines, is launching a joint venture with ANA, the biggest airline based in Japan, both of which are Star Alliance members. Confirmation of the deal was only made possible when the Japanese Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport granted ANA ‘anti-trust immunity’. The joint venture follows on from a similar agreement between United Airlines and ANA on trans-Pacific routes.
It is expected that passenger services will be greatly improved by the two airlines working together. Schedule coordination will be improved and it will be possible to combine product sales. Transfers will also be simplified and connections made easier.
The deal is expected to improve flight schedules, making it easier for travellers to plan their flights between Japan and Europe. Overall, the joint venture is another step towards consolidating Lufthansa’s cooperation with ANA, which it was hoped would result in closer economic ties between Europe and Japan
